Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adults
As a Club we are committed to meeting the LTA’s new standards for safeguarding children and vulnerable adults. This means that the club has adopted new policies and procedures for safeguarding, diversity and inclusion, and whistle blowing, together with codes of conduct for coaches and club volunteers, children and young people, and parents or other adults accompanying children.

Welfare Officer Role Description
We have undertaken a risk assessment of the club’s environment and activities, and have agreed a variety of actions where necessary to reduce or eliminate risks wherever possible, including relevant background checks for the coaches and volunteers who have any significant responsibility for young people under 18 at the Club.
However, whilst your club has taken these steps to keep our club safe and an enjoyable place to be, we also rely on each of us as members taking responsibility and appropriate action if necessary where the safety and welfare of others is concerned.
The Club has a trained volunteer Welfare Officer (Ali Sparks), who has key responsibilities to help safeguard the welfare of children and vulnerable adults at the club. If you are worried about the safety or welfare of a young person (under 18) at the club, you must take appropriate action to share your concerns. The large poster in the clubhouse gives you helpful advice and explains what do to in the event that you have concerns, and this is also on the club’s website. If you are in any doubt contact Ali Sparks, or myself as Chair.
If you have any questions about the actions that the club has taken, or any other aspect of safeguarding at the club, please do not hesitate to contact me.
